Padme Escapes
16x24" Oils on Paper over masonite

I've had the privilege of doing Star Wars RPG spot illustrations, but wanted to stretch out a bit and do something bigger, so I did this uncommissioned piece between assignments.

Well, this "uncommissioned piece" is phenomenal work! Great still capture of one of the few highlights of that movie, though I still like it cause I like Star Wars, but yeah! Awesome work though!

Thx! The prequels get no love, but there were cool aspects and scenes throughout.

Yeah, though to me, they were pretty much the action scenes and exciting duels (though the only duel that came close to capturing the emotional, tense conflict was the Ani/Obi fight). I will say though, RotS had the most redeeming qualities, and doing as decent a job as possible bridging the two trilogies together. With its first half-hour the light, tongue-in-cheek humor going on during a tense battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan was the first and only time I actually truly believed the two were "good friends" as old Ben stated in ANH. The Palpatine/Anakin scenes where Palpatine was twisting, tempting, and manipulating Anakin were spot on, and is really a testament to how good an actor Ian McDiarmid is. So, yeah, there's redeemable factors, but it is hard to see with so much bad surrounding those hidden gems. and yw, btw! Squee Bounce

Heh, thanks! I used a super-soaker for a reference. I wonder if it was the toy or me.

Okay, her arm/wrist is creating a tangent with the storm trooper's helmet.

And second, I feel like her face should be getting more light, not her hip. That would pull her face a bit forward as well, because I feel like it is a bit too similar in overall color.. you've got the hot spot on the stormtrooper's helmet and it shouldn't be THAT bright, her forehead, her nose, could do with a touch more light, IMO.

Please, please realize that these are nitpicks... I really think your work is dynamic, both in composition and in color in a way that I'm seriously jealous of. Your stuff is dynamite. I'm hopefully, just providing an extra match.

Dude, no worries! The more complicated the piece, the more an artist is likely to either miss something or be forced to make choices between priorities. I appreciate your input.
